WHAT WE DO

Free Press Foundation was established to revive and sustain the Free Press and to provide for the education and training of future generations of news reporters, editors, artists, producers and other “content providers”.

Free Press Foundation conducts Washington, D.C.-based ‘Free Press Boot Camps’ on news reporting, writing, editing. Qualified students receive instruction and mentoring by members of the Free Press Foundation Advisory Board and other working journalists with national and international experience. Those who successfully complete the training receive the ‘Competitive Free Press Award’ certification.

Free Press Foundation also supports the work of news professionals and correspondents, including those based abroad, who write for American media outlets. In the current U.S. media environment, journalists must often sacrifice professional standards to maintain employment or seek additional jobs to support their families.

Free Press Foundation is a non-profit tax exempt 501(c)(3) corporation. Donations are tax deductible.
